Central Carolina Technical College’s (CCTC) 63,000-square-foot, three-story Academic and Student Services Center, located on its main campus, consolidates a variety of student services previously spread across multiple buildings. Delivery of this facility represents a major milestone in CCTC’s ongoing campus transformation – one that will serve CCTC, its students, and the community for decades to come.
Blackstone was responsible for the installation of major HVAC equipment, including (1) 225-ton air cooled chiller, (3) roof top air handling units, (2) natural gas fired boilers, (2) computer room units, as well as the necessary pumps, fans, piping and ductwork required by the system. With in-house fabrication, we're able to provide the air distribution ductwork more efficiently.
Comfort is maintained by (105) multi-zone VAV boxes of various sizes and capacities. The bio/chem lab area is served by a dedicated fume hood.
Blackstone’s project scope included HVAC controls, which had to meet the quality standards of a third-party HVAC commissioning agent.
Maintaining the project schedule was critical as CCTC needed the building ready for occupancy in time for the fall semester start.
